JANUARY 6th – 7th , 2010/ RIALTO CALIFORNIA - A joint fire emergency response training exercise was held January 6th and 7th at the West Colton Worth Rail Terminal in Rialto, California. The purpose of the exercise and training was to familiarize the Rialto Fire Department, Colton Fire Department and the San Bernardino County Fire Departments with the terminal’s state of the art foam fire delivery systems. The West Colton Rail Terminal is projected to offload over 4500 tank railcars annually of bulk liquid ethanol for use in gasoline blending in the Inland Empire area of Southern California. “The systems at our West Colton Rail Terminal are highly advanced and the training represented a time where we could host the local fire departments that may respond, should there be a need, at the rail terminal” said Ron Percival, Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for the West Colton Rail Terminal. “We take pride in our people and our dedication to safety. This was an opportunity to give our emergency responders not only firsthand experience on this system but also an opportunity to assess each other’s capabilities and develop strategies for a potential joint response.”
The West Colton Rail Terminal is owned by West Colton Rail Terminal, LLC, a company which is part of the U.S. Development Group of companies. The U.S. Development Group companies are engaged in logistics terminalling, as well as designing, developing, owning and managing large-scale logistic centers throughout the United States.
